Hi I'm Gianina,

I work with children, teens, adults, couples and families who feel disconnected—from their emotions, their bodies, or each other—and are seeking a more embodied, holistic way to heal and reconnect. Many of my clients come in navigating family conflict, emotional overwhelm, anxiety or trauma. I support them through a gentle and creative process that brings curiosity, movement, and deep listening to what the body is holding to help heal relationships to self and others.

You might be feeling stuck in cycles that don’t serve you—overwhelmed by emotions and triggers, unsure how to connect with your child or partner. You might be struggling to create the family dynamic you desire or to feel at home in your own body. Perhaps you're a parent navigating the stress of raising a child with big emotions or developmental differences, or a teen trying to understand your identity and feelings. You may feel like traditional talk therapy isn’t enough. If so, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to figure it out alone. I specialize in working with those who are open to creative, body-based healing and who are ready to explore new ways of relating to themselves and others.

My approach combines talk therapy with somatic and expressive tools like guided movement, play, mindfulness, and creative arts. Whether you're a parent supporting a child working through a difficult phase, a family working through conflict or transitions, or a teen exploring self-worth, I offer a safe space where we move at your pace. I also support adults who are looking to heal their inner child, work through past trauma, and explore the deeper parts of themselves—including the parts they may have learned to hide, reject, or silence. Together, we gently make space for integration, self-compassion, and growth.

Professional Background

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate. I hold an MA in Dance/Movement Therapy with a specialization in Couples and Family Therapy from Antioch University New England, and a BFA in Dance from The University of Texas at Austin. I completed my clinical training in a community mental health agency, providing services to victims of crime, families in crisis, and trauma survivors across the lifespan. I am also a Registered Dance/Movement Therapist (R-DMT), a certified yoga teacher, and have obtained additional training in mindfulness meditation. My clinical work integrates creative, body-based practices with evidence-based systemic therapy to support holistic healing.

About me

When I’m not in the therapy room, I love relaxing at the lake, going on long walks, practicing yoga, dancing, and spending time with loved ones. Creativity, nature, and community keep me grounded and continually inspire the work I do.

Have you ever said to yourself, “Wow, I didn’t realize I was tense there!” Have you ever gotten a massage and said, “Ouch! I didn’t even know how painful and tense that area was!” It’s not just you. Most of us are walking through life having tuned out our bodies. We have lost connection to our bodies for multiple reasons. Sometimes it’s too overwhelming to turn our attention to our bodies. Sometimes, we are so busy that we never take the time out to notice ourselves. This lack of connection can cause a variety of symptoms and problems. Being out of tune with your body can cause chronic pain, anxiety, rapid thoughts, inability to relax and sleep, and more. Early in my career, I learned an exercise that Cognitive-Behavioral therapists teach as one of the most effective ways to decrease anxiety. I have since come to realize that it has many more benefits. You may have practiced it in a yoga class to deepen relaxation. Clients often ask me what they can do to help fall asleep, to relieve stress and tension, to stop clenching their jaw or tightening other muscles, or decrease anxiety, or to improve their connection to their body. In our fast-paced, hectic lives, stress and tension can easily take a toll on our physical and mental well-being. It builds up without our awareness. We soon forget what being relaxed feels like. Our constant state of being is tense. In the pursuit of a healthier and more balanced lifestyle, it's crucial to incorporate relaxation techniques into our daily routines. The practice of Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) can help foster mind-body connection, help teach your body how to relax, decrease stress, and improve sleep. This deeply relaxing practice is easy to learn and can work wonders in reducing stress, promoting better sleep, and enhancing overall wellness.I will explore what PMR is, talk about its benefits, and provide a step-by-step guide.
